Monday April 24, 2023, at 6pm-8pm
The Graduate Center (365 Fifth Avenue), Room 9207

Panelists:
Allia Abdullah-Matta, Poet & Associate Professor @ LaGuardia CC
Richard Jeffrey Newman, Poet/Essayist/Translator & Professor @ Nassau CC
Tau Battice, Photographer & Lecturer @ Guttman CC

Moderator: Sokunthary Svay, Writer & Humanities Alliance Fellow (GC)

These panelists have three things in common: they are all working artists, professors in English, and teach at public two-year colleges. It’s a cause for celebration as well as inquiry. First, how do their practices and forms of expression inform the work they do in the classroom? Who are they as artists and instructors within the context of the humanities and a public community college setting? Featuring poetry and photography, this informal panel promises to be a lively and active discussion.
