Robert R. Daniel is an Assistant Professor of French in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Saint Joseph’s University. He teaches French language, literature and culture, francophone studies, and literature in translation. His scholarly interests include nineteenth-century French literature and intellectual culture, postcolonial theory, ethics, cross-cultural communication, evolutionary psychology, Atlantic History, and the Anthropocene. He has published on language pedagogy and on French writers François Villon, Charles Baudelaire and Edouard Ourliac.
